A Historic Decision: SISP Withdraws from Bangladesh and Returns Home to the United States
December 1, 2025

After months of enduring injustice, institutional discrimination, and clear signs of corruption within the legal and law enforcement systems, Shaker International Scholarship Programs (SISP) has made a historic and painful decision to withdraw its operations from Bangladesh and return home to the United States.
This decision follows the devastating SISP Bangladesh fraud case, involving Samia Islam Farzana, Shahid Anwar Shadheen, and Jannatul Ferdous Fareha — individuals who were not only supported by SISP, but were treated like family.
Founded in the Hawaiian Islands — a place many around the world call paradise — SISP came to Bangladesh with a sincere mission: to serve forgotten children of God, uplift underprivileged families, and provide education, dignity, and hope.
Instead, the organization faced betrayal, financial fraud, and a justice system that failed to act.
Betrayed by Those We Supported the Most
The individuals involved in this Bangladesh NGO fraud scandal were among the very people SISP helped the most. They were provided with:
- Employment opportunities
- Educational scholarships
- Financial assistance
- Savings and emergency support
- Gifts and personal aid
- Extended support to their families
SISP invested not only money, but trust, care, and hope. They were treated better than family. Yet those who were given everything chose betrayal, causing immense financial loss and organizational harm.
A Self-Funded Nonprofit Built on Sacrifice
SISP is not supported by government funding, large institutions, or public donations. The organization was built entirely from the personal savings, hard work, and lifelong sacrifices of its founder, Mr. Morad Shaker.
Every scholarship awarded. Every family assisted. Every program launched — all came directly from the founder’s personal resources. To see such a mission violated through fraud and institutional inaction has been deeply heartbreaking.
A Mission Met with Injustice
Throughout the investigation, SISP provided extensive evidence. Yet months passed with:
- No arrests
- No recovery of funds
- No meaningful legal action
This prolonged justice delay halted humanitarian projects, paused international initiatives, and caused damage beyond imagination.
A Difficult but Necessary Decision
Returning to Hawaii — where SISP was born — is not abandonment. It is a stand for justice. It represents a return to transparency, accountability, and lawful protection.
Despite withdrawal from operations in Bangladesh, SISP has not abandoned its commitments. Scholarships remain active. Financial assistance continues. Support programs are delivered every month.
A Call for Accountability
Humanitarian organizations deserve protection — not exploitation.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
As SISP returns home to the United States, it remains dedicated to its global humanitarian mission while pursuing justice through international legal channels. This painful chapter has strengthened SISP’s resolve to operate where integrity, transparency, and accountability are respected.
